In the summer of 2008 following the prompting of the Lord, Neil Raybould and the team from Steel Cross got together with several other groups and individuals to put on a different response to halloween

after an overwhelming response we will be holding The Stand 2 in 2009 and also we are looking at other ways to build on what has been started

A group of us will be meeting regularly to seek God and see where we are going with The Stand

Isaiah 59 v 19:

When the enemy comes in like a flood, the Spirit of The Lord will lift up a standard against him.

On the night traditionally associated with darkness, we raise up the banner of our lord Jesus Christ. We come together as one family, one body through Him; no longer to stay silent but to step out and bring light back into this day. Through prayer, praise, worship, intercession and spiritual warfare, we put the focus and glory back onto God.

‘The Stand' is a vision God has given us to unite Christians of all backgrounds and denominations together as one, to take their place and stand against the darkness and deception that is the festival of Halloween. Three different worship bands will each lead a time of prayer and worship specifically focused against this evil and destructive celebration. There will also be a separate intercession room open for those who prefer to cry out to God in a more intimate setting. You and anyone you know with a heart to reclaim the ground the enemy has taken, are warmly invited to attend. Admission to the event is free, this is not about making money, just about uniting Christians to pray and take a stand together. Our prayers can make a difference to the spiritual climate of our area and nation.
